No item custody
GOLD CAMEL never holds, touches, or has access to your Steam inventory. All trades happen directly between users on Steam. We are a discovery platform — not an escrow.
Steam account verification
Every account must link a real Steam profile before trading. We verify account age, trade history, and inventory visibility to reduce the risk of scammers.
Reputation system
Every completed trade triggers a two-way review. Reputation scores are public, tamper-resistant, and factor into our matching algorithm — bad actors are surfaced immediately.
Secure authentication
We support Steam OpenID and email/password authentication with bcrypt hashing. Sessions are HTTP-only, short-lived, and rotated on sensitive actions.
Scam protection
Our systems flag suspicious patterns: newly-created accounts, sudden high-value listings, unusual message patterns, and rapid reputation drops. Flagged users are reviewed manually.
Data protection
Your personal data is stored encrypted at rest. We follow GDPR and global data minimisation principles. We do not sell, share, or monetise your personal information.
Steam trade safety tips
- Always use the official Steam Trade URL — never send items through chat links.
- Verify the profile of your trade partner before accepting any trade offer.
- Be suspicious of middleman requests — GOLD CAMEL never acts as a middleman.
- Check your partner's reputation score and trade history before negotiating.
- Never share your Steam credentials, 2FA codes, or API keys with anyone.
- Report suspicious behaviour using the in-app report button immediately.
